Loading a Pricing Database Diskette or Tape
The c-Systems Price Update system is an extremely flexible series of programs, allowing you to dictate your pricing structure. The steps involved in updating the pricing in your inventory file are listed below.
1. Access the PRICEUPD program and load the new pricing diskette or tape (Selection 1 on the menu). The new pricing information is loaded into the TPA database file.
2. After the diskette/tape has loaded without error*, use selection 2 "Proceed with Automated Update" from the
PRICEUPD program menu.
3. From the "Automated Pricing Menu", use the "View" selection to look at the actual product line database you just loaded. The product line(s) included are listed on the diskette/tape label.
In most cases, the database pricing have a price in the LIST field and 'zero' in the COST field (or COST might be the same as LIST on all parts). In either of these cases, your actual COST price must be calculated based on your particular discount structure. In some cases, the manufacturer provides the COST price on the database. Those databases do not need to have the COST price calculated unless you get different pricing than is shown in the database.
4. Use the "Pricefm" selection from the "Automated Pricing Menu" to set the COST generation discount structure for each product line included in this update.
5. After the parameters have been established in step 4 above, use the "Change" selection to specify which product line(s) are to be updated. Be careful when making an entry in the "Calc" field. If the COST price needs to be generated, enter "Y". If the correct COST has been provided on the database, enter "N".
6. When step 5 is complete, use the "Update" selection to complete the update procedure. This is the step which actually performs the calculations and move the new pricing to the inventory file
