Running End Of
Day/Common End Of Day Questions
Question:
The power must have gone down during the End of Day procedure. Now the
screen has a message that End Of Day is not complete. What do I do?
Answer:
Most of the time, all that is required is to take option 7 at the Main Menu
and type in "RENDDAY". That will resume End Of Day where
it stopped. If End Of Day was halted during a critical program or file
update, you may get an Error –13 at 0 when trying to run RENDDAY. In
that case, contact c-Systems.

Question:
How do I start the End Of Day procedure?
Answer:
From the Main Menu, log off all
terminals by typing "7", then "BYE", and
pressing the Enter key. Make sure your report printer has plenty of paper and is
on-line. Insert the day's designated backup tape into the tape
drive. At the Main Menu on the main monitor, type "7",
then "ENDDAY", and pressing Enter. There will be a
message prompt to enter "YES" or "NO", type
"YES" to continue or "NO" to abort the End Of
Day cycle. At the next prompt, type "GO" to continue and
press Enter. The End Of Day procedure will start running. Once End
Of Day is complete, review any messages on the screen and type "OK"
at the prompt. At the message "ENDDAY IS COMPLETE",
type"GO" and press Enter. Once back at the Main Menu,
remove the tape from the tape drive and resume normal business.

Answer:
This means that the computer has
reports in the print queue to be printed. All reports must be cleared
before "ENDDAY" can run. First verify that the report printer
is loaded with paper and is on-line. Turn the printer off and then back
on. If reports start to print, wait until they have completed before
starting "ENDDAY". If reports do not print, press "7"
at the Main Menu, type "REPORTS", and press Enter. At the
selection prompt, press the "ESC" key. A report may or
may not run. This will clear the report selections and return to the Main
Menu. Now, try running "ENDDAY" again.
